A weekend in Mallaig and Loch Morar

Enjoy a night away in this beautiful place

Day 1

Day 2

Starting in Stirling, head north to Mallaig. Enjoy the drive through Glencoe. If you are a Harry Potter fan, stop in at Glenfinnan Viaduct on the way up. In Mallaig, we had pizza from the Crannog for dinner and it was amazing, I'd highly recommend it.

There are lots of local campsites with beach access if you book ahead, or you can stay in one of the beach car parks (check for signage indicating whether you are allowed to), or on the shore of Loch Morar (again check signage).

Driving time: 3.5 hours

To eat: The Crannog, Mallaig

Stay the night: Lots of choose from, see above

Drive along the beaches on the coast, go swimming, do a little shopping in Mallaig, go and look at Loch Morar (the deepest fresh water loch in the British Isles), get breakfast/lunch from the Bakery in Mallaig. There is lots to do in this scenic part of Scotland!

Do not miss the bakery in Mallaig, worth the 3 hour drive for this alone. We also really enjoyed The Cabin Restaurant & Take Away for the freshest fish and chips I've ever had. Yum!
