All 4 of us, in 2 Land Rovers, headed up to Mallaig on a road trip in late April (just before the midges came out!) and it is an absolutely stunning drive up through Glencoe, Fort William and then to Mallaig.
We ended up stopping at the Glen Etive parking for lunch and it was fabulous.
Turns out this is where the famous James Bond Skyfall picture is taken but we didn't realise until we had left!
Arrived in Mallaig and parked in their huge new car park with toilets. Ended up going for dinner in The Cabin Restaurant, we were all blown away with the freshness of the seafood and the presentation of desserts! Caught the sunset as we headed back to the car.
Ended up staying overnight on the shores of Loch Morar, there was signage about camping but as we were technically parking it seemed to be allowed. Always be respectful of others, especially those who live there, when considering where to park.
Next day we went to the beautiful beaches all along the coast. What a trip!
Quite a lot of driving but I think it's worth it.
