Staying Overnight in Lossiemouth

We wanted to do a one night trip, and I had heard that Lossiemouth has the most beautiful beach in Scotland so I thought 'why not'?

Heading out from Stirling, we couldn't help but stop at our favourite bakery and tearoom: Blair Atholl Watermill. Perfectly placed for anyone heading north, this is a must visit.

We took a short detour to Dufftown, and visited The Whisky Shop to do some birthday shopping. If whisky is your thing then you'll enjoy Dufftown.

Arriving in Lossiemouth after about 4 hours of driving, I could see it was worth it immediately. The beaches are stunning: sand dunes, white sand and pretty pebbles. There were also a variety of ice cream shops, we ended up in Mieles for gelato which was AMAZING. Will be back.

We stayed overnight in the Lossiemouth East Beach car park, right next to the community run toilets. The toilets closed sometime after 7pm, and reopened just after 8am, even on a Sunday. They were impressively clean and well stocked, so I made sure to donate using the handy QR code by the door!

The view from the Landy was something else.

This photo was taken the next morning, and a heron was kind enough to pose for me.
